three milks please!

Yummy yummy in my tummy! This week in Texas has been quite eventful. The dance studio I work for, has been hosting an all out bonanza!!! of FREE CLASSES ranging in hip-hop, pop-n-locking, jazz, ballet, contemporary, break dancing, and housing! The studio has been receiving great numbers in traffic that is comming through the studio! Its quite a site to see. So many people who are thriving to become better at what they love, and are passionate about. It is really just something you've got to see! The reason I feel pretty good about this, is because for the passed 9 or 10 months, ive been able to wittness the progression of the business out side of the studio, such as bookings, gigs, work-shops, flights, fights, and the drama. To me its not only what you see now, but what you were able to see as you were on your way. But what is a successful business without these things?? in my honest opinion.... NOTHING. Its really something that you have to go through in order to realize just how far along you've made it. I have been fortunate enough to really experience one of the biggest first hand internships of my lifetime!!! If you would ask me what i would be doing 9 months ago, had i not answered the phone knowing i was 3 hours late to my first photoshoot, honestly probably....NOTHING, at least of this caliber. So for me to be able to see the progression with my own four eyes, it is something I really can't put into words. It's almost comparable to a winning shot to the championship game, of your senior year! Like tackling the quarter back right before he passes the ball to the number one ranked receiver in your district. In other words, you'll never forget it. Its work but its not work. I can wake up each afternoon, oops I mean morning and actually say I REALLY like what I do as a "job." It's like baking a cake, you bring everything together, you break everything down, and you lay the foundation, and if done properly.... the rest is "icing." The surprises you get from people that you meet on a daily basis, especially at the dance studio, are very memorable, simply because you see their first hand reaction of entering the studio, and the look on their face, as they walk out the door saying "I can't wait till tomorrow!" These are my journey's and my maps to my life, everything "unexpected" and nothing forgotten, thanks for the cake.

makes me feel good

What makes you "feel good?" for me its a number of things. Music, Art, Laughing, Weather,Atmosphere, and the list goes on. On days when you feel like its gonna be one of "those days."It's pretty funny to see how with just a split second, everything changes and all of a sudden your having one of those really really good days. In my opinion I'm a pretty easy person to please,it doesn't take much to really make me feel pretty good. You know those days when you step outside and the weather just feels amazing. The sun is shining, few to no clouds around, and the breeze is just dancing between you. Yeah those days make me feel gooood. It kinda makes you feel like damn, this just aint' too shabby! Yup i know you know what i'm talkin' about! Your mood just suddenly changes and you kinda feel like your day is heading from sour to sweet, in just a matter of seconds. Not a care in the world, and you know it. The music you listen to from that point on is the pivital moment in locking in your feel good, rest of the day. There's those tracks that you play and you know every high-hat, every crash, every snare, click, and guitar strum to. Yeah you know what i mean, your jamming out, and the rest of the pavement is only a few tracks away from making sure your ride is exactly "one of those days". For many people I really think that these days seem to come a lot less often than they used to. Now you're worried with bills, deadlines, rent, grades, kid's, and lets face it, NO time for yourself. In other word's, you don't get to see the day the way you used to see it, you don't hear the music the way you used to hear it, and your laugh just isn't quite there. We are human, we deal with theses things, it's nothing new right? Wrong, to me that is, sure we are human's but who in their right mind said you gotta live this way?? Exactly no body. Half of the emotions that we as people endure, are mixxed, between what we want and what we have just because. GOOD days are no different from bad day's, except for one thing. The moment you accept that your day is going to be bad.... youve pretty much "made your bed and your ready to rest in it." Your day is only as good as you allow it to be. Long story short, live a little, enjoy your life, and know that if you're alive your not off to a bad start.

"Soul-full individuals"

"I've got soooooooooul and i'm super-bad!!" Define "soul", to me its the ability to know something is dope, when all other's see it as whack or weak. It's kind of like being able to recognize and see the potential in almost anything. It kind of gives you a certain "one up" on conventional thinking, or, how my friend's would say "tips" and for you that still don't get it "typicial". For example when we go out, I can usuallly find my self pickin out the things that I feel are pretty typical as far as what someone is wearing, and who they're with, and kind of what things they're into as a person. Its pretty sad, considering its pretty darn close to stereo typing ppl. Its very very close to "tips" but not as mean as stereo typingand labeling someone is made out to be. And here's "my" reason why, when you stereo type someone, your usually seeing them in some sort of a negative light. Let's face it ... who are you kidding, we all pretty much do it whether we recognize it or not. When I claim something is tips, its usually out of humor, nothing too serious and it may come off slightly rude....but nothing close to stereo-typing/racial profiling or prejudism that is... haha It's kinda like "yeah I can kinda see the potential" in what there wearing, or what look they were going for, but they just need a little... direction.. yeah that's it. Let's say in what they are wearing, that's usually where I find my self using the"tips" term and pretty much determining if a person's got that "umph", or if they simply know whats up. Most of the time I feel i'm right, but then there are times when my friends and I are pretty much on the dot! Haha but no, seriously no harm intended its simply a split-second decision I make as a person, based on impulse, and it seems pretty shallow, especially something over "clothes". The moral of the story... if you could understand this paragraph, from the begining until now, I can honestly say you know wassup. There really is a difference between calling someone "tips"and full blown stereo typing! this doesn't just pertain to "clothing" this get's pretty interesting, so stay tuned. "soul-full individuals" can recognize indeedz. oh and don't be "tips"

fly away and never come back

"All aboard, take off is in t minus 10 second's, strap on your seat belt and embrace your self into a bliss of never-ending events of your body's most natural endorphins." Here we are, human beings, bodies, masses, air breathing living individuals. Here you are sitting in your own world, only a few feet from the real world. Are you surrounded by your besties or are you solo? It's only natural to feel the likeness of natural emotions, happy sad, in-between or just there. Now take that image, and picture yourself riding on life's surfboard's, taking its ups and downs and left and rights. Who do you have to turn to? or talk to? Where do you stand, at this very moment? For many its pretty simple, you could be anywhere you want to be, or imagined yourself being, or with people you want to be with. Good, or bad, you pretty much feel that your neither too close or miles away from living in life's normalities. You just know you're living. I like this feeling. A feeling that is quite different but very identical in traits that you notice in the people around you. Have you ever noticed as a child, you're very quick to surround yourself with the people who share your common intrests? In other words, your potential "best friends". As i look around at this moment, i realized that friendship has no ages, no colors, no puzzle peices, everything sort of "fits." I'm young, how ever some of my best laughs i could say have been with my friends who were born into a generation years away from myself. Its quite strange, but for some reason it's pretty cool. moral of the story- if i could fly a spaceship into outer space, and take a vacation, i could easily tell you who my co-pilots would be, could you?

"please read instructions"

Its not every day that you get to see life altering images, and mind boggling events, that change your outlook on life. Although, the times that you do see things of this nature, you often place these things in a small little file cabinet inside your mind, that you can later go back too when you feel reminded, or feel it to be necessary. As a kid you're surrounded by new things, and discoveries, and just loads and loads of stuff you just want to do. They say that a child's mind is like a sponge, and that it soaks up and retains most of its information at the delicate ages of infancy. My question to you is , at what point in your life, does your mind stop taking in these new events, and these new needs and wants to go out there and to do new things? Is it possible for someone to be able to never lose that sense of curiosity, and desire to always want to know what else is out there?
As a child in the "rebellious era", as i like to call it, i feel that today's youth are losing great amounts of curiosity in life, and are simply "settling" for what they feel life has to offer them. The drive for curiosity has slowy but surely slowed down. Plenty of time s i get questions like "what are you up to nowa days?" "what are your plans for your future?" i simply reply "to keep on wanting to know what else is out there in this world for me" not so much in those words per say, but along those lines. .. its times like that when i feel that the ppl in my generation have this general idea that their lives have been pre-mapped out, and given a guideline for them to follow, because its "proven success" to those of you who feel this, my advice to you is simple... "life is short, why spend it reading directions"
